Projekta has teamed up with the Ta’ Xbiex Local Council to organise a Beach Cleanup at Ta’ Xbiex Beach in a bid to give back to the local community and the environment.
Our beaches are the bridges between land and marine environments, and are vital biodiversity areas. Keeping our beaches clean is a step towards cleaning our sea.
We see beach clean-ups as a learning opportunity for citizens. There is ’s a difference between seeing photos of plastic pollution online and actually cleaning it up from the beach. It makes us think about the effect of the non-biodegradable things we use and how they affect the environment.
We encourage you to join us on Saturday 14th August at 8:30am, meeting point is next to Amigos restaurant Ta’ Xbiex. You will get to meet like-minded people, full of fun and energy and make new friends. Participants will be provided with the necessary equipment and protective gear such as garbage bags and gloves.
If you cannot make it on Saturday, you can still join our effort by spreading the word and being mindful of how to dispose of waste in a manner to make this world and our seas better for the next generations.
